LOL. Santorum is connecting with voters in all the upcoming Primary states and is just a few points behind Obummer in today's Gallup. Your calling for this mythical Brokered Primary sounds like the familiar tenor of Newt supporters as of late.

If turnout in the general is at an all time record low, perhaps he has a chance. But he strikes me as neither a fighter, nor a leader. He will be a goldfish in a bowl full of sharks throughout the general. The most memorable element of his campaign so far is his sweater-vests. Yep, he’s got the “sweater-vest” constituency sewed-up.

He’s a *really* nice guy and that may be his undoing — he comes off as someone who’s never had to get some blood on his knuckles and I bet the dems get the same impression. Can he stand up to what the libs are going to dish out to whoever survives the primary? So far, he doesn’t lend very much confidence in that regard.

Polls now are all but meaningless, what till the Obammunist propaganda machine starts defining “Rev Rick”

Why do you think the left is so quiet re. Santorum? Do you think they like his platform?

If nominated, the deluge unleashed upon Santorum will be far beyond even what Palin has faced.

And I’m entitled to my opinion, Lazlo- sorry, Santorum strikes me as a weak person with zero leadership experience and lousy resume.

I don’t have to be impressed with anyone just because the sheeple have flocked

Lazlo in PA is right on point. Stop this troll nonsense. Is that all you anti-Santorum folks have to offer.

We are trying to stop Romney at any cost. This is the central mission at hand. If you think why a Gingrich withdrawal in MI will not assist this goal argue your case. Who know’s you folks may have a point. But simply engaging in visceral stuff gets us nowhere.

Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin have all but endorsed Santorum as the last remaining viable candidate to beat Obama, and even conservative publications like The Washington Times, The American Spectator, Townhall, and National Review have come around to saying the same thing. The question for all of us is not Gingrich’s politics, although that does matter, but at this stage of the game its a question of electability.

To paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld, we got to war with what we have. And if Santorum is within reach of beating Romney in his home state, and making this a 2-person race, it befits Gingrich to strategically withdraw in MI. I believe many of us who are behind Santorum would have said the same thing if the numbers were reversed in Gingrich’s favor. This is not and never has been about bashing Gingrich or anyone else or creating “fan” clubs.

It comes to down to the best options we have to defeat Romney. Let’s face some hard facts. Gingrich’s negatives are through the cellar, he’s opening up a +20 point difference with female voters, he lost to Romney in every key demographic in FL, and while Santorum trails Obama by 8 points in the recent USA-Gallup, Gingrich is behind by as much as 15 points and more. More alarming, Santorum is even nipping at the heels of Gingrich’s GA and has just opened up a Grand Canyon lead in 155 delegate-rich Texas.

Or do we have Machiavellian politics at play here? Could it be that Gingrich doesn’t want to withdraw from the MI primary is because should Santorum win, his momentum from this seismic event will sweep Gingrich as well in the Super- Tuesday tsunami?

When you join a resistance, you work with allies to defeat a common enemy of conservatism. Either we close ranks and get behind Santorum as Levin advocates or we splinter and fail.

Should any third party individual come in at a fantasy brokered convention, it would irreparably harm the conservative movement and assure an easy re-election for Obama.
