Interstate 10 looked like the migrant film Harvest of Shame...hundreds of loaded vans and trucks either going back to Mexico, or California.

Many reports estimate upwards of 400,000 illegals have left CA in the past few years.

And this.

More illegal immigrants finding way to Texas

Mexicans want free stuff and handouts from the goberment. Bush, McCain, Karl Rove, et al are full of crap when they say Mexicans have much in common with the GOP.

I see lots of Pro-Life bumper stickers on their pickups, but leftists always get a big majority of their vote, even against ultimate panderers like McCain. Go figure.

I heard a GOP strategist speak at a conference in October who said that if the 1980 Reagan-Carter race was re-run with today’s demographics that Reagan still wins but it is by a razor thin margin... That is a terrifying thought.

I remember a National Review or Weekly Standard cover about 20 years ago, with a picture of Reagan with a tear in his eye, with a title describing that demographic process.

The Republican strategist doesn’t surprise me with his opinion, because it’s painfully obvious the Republican party leadership is convinced Leftist leaning Republicans are more viable. Of course they said the same thing in Reagan’s day too.

Reagan would win by an even broader margin today, because Obama is even worse than Carter, and Reagan would win for all the same reasons.

You make your own breaks in politics. Reagan would win by framing Obama with precisely what he has accomplished doing what he did.

He would then tell what he would accomplish and how he would do it.

The Republican leadership and it’s consultants remain clueless to the bitter end of their party.

Illegal aliens must have all goods and services cut off.

White citizens must start reproducing in numbers that ensure a quality way of life remains.

It’s really up to us what happens.

And I know you understand it won't be easy. Apart from demographics, we have too many leftist judges, bureaucrats, and govt. union members (see Wisconsin -- the vampires have attached and they do not intend to let go).

They fix the questions to come out their way. They pressure and threaten Hispanics so it is not safe to say you are against the Dems to strangers.

So, they're just victims again?

GOP strategist opinion? That was 30 years ago. The country, world, economy, war, US voter, ... has changed dramatically in 30 years.
I would not imagine that Reagan would have all the answers for the mess we were in now.
The tragedy is that we have to go back to Reagan to find that last POTUS we liked, the last GOP POTUS that was a success.

US voters can't be trusted to do the right thing. After the kids graduate from high school, I can escape Obamacare by relocating to Thailand. Expats are automatically exempt, I understand.

The SCOTUS could overturn obamacare, but as you have suggested before, that might take us from the frying pan to the fire of (a very corrupt version of) single payer, if voters keep voting themselves benefits.

Yes, they sure did, still race baiting, still trying their best to silence anyone who speaks out ‘too much’ and blood is on their hands. They are NO different than Obama who throws the race card any time anyone objects to his lousy policies.

That decision is probably going to be made by a single justice 5-4 and I would put it at 50-50 chances.

Overturning the mandates in Obama-care would be a huge loss for Obama but if the rest of it stays in place then that means that more and more will be uninsured go onto medicaid. The remainder of the law would be similar to NY state law. Would Republicans cut medicaid funding with rising uninsured ? You know.

In spite of all the tough talk I doubt that any Republican in the WH would really try hard to repeal Obama-care and then risk being blamed for rising costs and uninsured that will happen either-way. They don't like responsibility. They like the issue, like Obama raising taxes on ‘the rich’ before the election. Look at Boehner's promise to repeal it. You see him doing anything useful?

Two generations of unchecked illegal immigration since 1980 have resulted in a massive demographic shift. Even the town where I live, formerly a fairly conservative, Midwestern city, has been overrun by liberals, driven in large part by tremendous shifts in the ethnicity of the population. Look what it has done and is doing to CA, formerly reliably Republican and a beautiful, prosperous state, now a stink hole of liberalism that is falling apart at the seams. Latinos overwhelmingly support Obama? Oh, my, surprise surprise surprise. The reason? Two words: free money. The ‘Rats have always been masters of buying votes by dumping public largess on supposed “disadvantaged victims”. The solution? Your screen name gives a hint.
