Didn’t Jesus himself teach Christians to pray for those who persecute them and offered forgiveness to those who crucified him as he was dying n the cross? If Mormons want to do something similar so what.

- - - - -
Because it is NOT similar. This isn’t praying for those who persecute Mormons, rather the Mormons slit their throats or sent out assassins in the early days, now they file lawsuits, issue death threats, vandalize, etc. They don’t offer forgiveness to anyone who leaves, just ask other ex-mo’s.

This is Mormons going through these (rather lame and) elaborate rituals acting AS THE PERSON. In order to even to that, which is only open to about 15%, they must jump through all these hoops to be spiritually worthy and pass all these tests. Once they do that and obtain a Temple Recommend, then they ACT AS CHRIST by saving these people because you cannot be saved without these specifically Mormon rites.

BTW, Mormons also reject the cross and often come back with “well if Jesus was beheaded would you wear a guillatine around your neck?” To them the cross was only because he had to die simply to be resurrected, it has nothing really to do with salvation (except when they define salvation ONLY as resurrection which is universal).

Maybe you should learn what mormonism teaches about Catholics.

Huh? So how does Romney treat his wife or his kids or his dog? Learn about mormonism before you defend it.

I’ll do that right after I study what the Protestants have to say about us.

Based on what you have said not only do you know nothing or mormonism you know nothing of the Bible.
Or you are a typical mormon lying for the lords.

I’m a Newt supporter and have contributed to his campaign but Mitt treated his dog better than Newt treated his wives.

Well I married a Lutheran and in the beginning you would have thought he brought home a 3 headed monster.

Lots of religious hate and self righteous in all denominations.

Really? Romney tied his dog to the roof of his car for 12 hours.
Gingrich was 16 when he met his first wife, she was 24. They married when he just turned 18. After about a decade SHE asked for a divorce, they were separated for two years when he met his second wife. The first wife asked him to bring the divorce papers to the hospital, after her surgery she DID NOT have cancer.
He met his third wife after a separation from the second wife, (which by the way everyone who knew them said she was nuts).
He married his current wife, became a repented man and converted to Catholicism.
Sorry sweetie as a Gingrich supporter you should have known this about both Gingrich and Romney.
So the question remains are you really a mormon pretending to be a Catholic.

First of all calling me sweetie is very obnoxious.

Interesting how Newt always hooks up with nuts. That says as much about him as his nutty wives as far as relationships go. And I've never read he was separated from his second wife when he hooked up with the third. I read they were having an affair behind her back. I don't know where you got your version of that story,

I find it very distressing to be supporting a man who's been married three times. But I force myself to overlook this because he is a brilliant debtor and I believe he will bring about the radical changes this county so desperately needs after 4 years of the worst President who has ever occupied the office.

Finally, I'm an Irish/Italian Catholic. I'm not a Mormon. And your Mormon Detector Badge will be revoked if you persist in this totally wrong direction.

"I’m not an apologist. I just don’t condemn and name call en masse."

Yes, it's pretty clear that you have a high opinion of your tolerance and openmindedness, if that's what you call it. But why should a Christian have any problems condemning false doctrine?

Most protestants don’t have issue with Catholics. And Protestants and Catholics agree on the big things, like the person work and nature of Jesus. Mormons do not.

Or are you one of those protestant haters?

I don't believe in any of the Mormon doctrine.

And you would know all about high opinions of one's self.

She wouldn’t be the first (or second or even third) Mormon to lie and say they are Catholic while defending Mormonism and bashing Protestants.

Your equation shows you know nothing about either Lutherans, Mormonism or the Bible.

And you are prof that there is a lot of religious hate in you.

And defending Romney? Really? That is just plain stupid. Or do you tie your dog to the car also?

I married a Protestant. I had no problems. I’m not a hater
I only have problems with Protestants who tell me Catholics are members of a cult. Which has happened on this website more often than I’d like it to happen.

What does this comment have to do with what I said about Mormon theology spiting on Christ?

This isn’t about denominations, this is about Mormon heresy. Don’t pontificate on things you know nothing about.

Yet that is exactly what you have done on this thread.

Catherine is correct, Christians SHOULD condemn false doctrine that is biblical.
