At least Rush seems to have his gatehouse filled with bomb sniffers and the like. Andrew was walking alone on tree lined dark streets in neighborhoods where no one pays attention to anyone and a lot of people are famous.
Of all people, Andrew should have conducted his life with a MUCH higher degree of situational awareness, despite the relative safety of the neighborhood he lived in.
Of all people, he should have been more acutely aware of what sort of deadly enemies he was making. The man had to know that he had a target painted on his back. Knowing that, it was irresponsible of him to casually walk to the nearest bar for an evening drink.
