(When Romney’s father ran for Potus, a legal analysis was recorded into the Congretional Record.)

While not a binding legal case, it represented a well researched legal conclusion. 1. George Romney was not eligible, born in Mexico. 2. Native born=natural born. 3. No mention of Emerich de Vattel

George Romney dropped out, before this eligibility became an issue. He fared poorly in polls, as well.)

Aye, there's the rub. A non-binding opinion (which I admit I have not read).

While I share the opinion that an NBC ought to have two citizen parents (as do a number of political thinkers over the last 200 years) as a practical matter the legal support for this view doesn't seem to be there.

Add in historical examples of a previous President having a citizen mother and non-citizen father at birth and Presidential candidates with similar pedigrees and there just doesn't seem to be a strong justification for the 2-parent argument.

And from what I have read in American civics textbooks from the 1800’s and early 1900’s the concern was birth in the US. Though yes, this doesn't apply to Romney the elder it does apply to BHO.
