There is a scene in the movie "Gods and Generals" which I suspect is an accurate portrayal of history, where General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson appears before a large mass of men wearing gray or butternut uniforms.

Jackson reads a message from Abraham Lincoln advising the state of Virginia to raise a body of troops, in case any states choose to rebel against the federal government.

Jackson stops reading the message, looks out at the men before him and says, "Tell Mr. Lincoln, we have done so!"
