The media constantly lie about Santorum. I would have put it a lot more plainly than Santorum did. I would have been right in that punk reporter's face.
The problem is none of this does any good. This confrontation will be misrepresented and taken out of context. Republicans should ignore the media punks. If they must speak to them they should lecture them the way Newt does.

Cavuto just had Newt on and asked Newt what he thought about it. Newt said "We all get tired out here on the campaign trail and even I have said things I had to apologize for." Newt said he disagreed with Santorum on the remark about voting for Romney being no different than voting for Obama until he clarified it and now all is fine. But Newt said what Santorum said was not half as bad as what Obama said to the Russian President about having more flexibility once he is reelected. Newt said Obama is the most dangerous president we have ever had.

No, this needs to happen more often and using harsh words. As a former liberal I can tell you that liberals trade on being able to kow conservatives by trading on our civility. BS to that. Confront them with the truth(and a good verbal left-hook) they back off and soon realize they’ve been exposed.
