All of my Class III weapons and 500k rounds of ammo fell into the ocean, last year, in a boating accident. So, I’m okay...

I think they would be a little sneakier than this. They will probably require homeowner insurance companies to add this to your policy if you answer you have arms in your home.

wouldn’t the liability be picked up by the homeowners policy?

I have heard that a few citizens might own a firearm and I also heard of those few some own them as an insurance policy. I’m thinking that they might be exempt.

No way possible it would happen this way.

I am sure you would have to have proof of insurance prior to your gun leaving the shop or FFL. 10 days grace period? No way.

Does the legislation require criminals to sign up for these policies?

Gun owners are the largest cohesive group in the USA. They have raised havoc over some people getting reelected. Can you imagine the problems they can raise for the government? Think of the Frivolous law suits aimed at Sarah Palin and multiply by maybe one million and aim at all government politicians and many employees.

How the hell does this NOT FALL UNDER HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE already? This is just another tax disguised as insurance, just like the whole effing Obamacare 2000 page stack of s**t.

States already do that with respect to lots of things. The only catch here is that it implicates the 2d Amendment, but the SCOTUS has indicated that it’s willing to accept a lot of restrictions on the RKBA.

If I had any firearms they are already covered under my homeowners and liability.

Er... No.

My firearms are already covered on my home owners. I did this voluntarily with my NON-State controlled insurance company.

If a legislator tries to FORCE me to buy it... They and I will be having a major issue as I would fail to comply.

Period.

Same for Zerocare...

My husband and I just finished taking the Concealed Carry class required for licensing in Wisconsin. Our intructor advised that each of us in the class be sure to get a $1 million umbrella policy and to discuss whether it covers our guns. As for himself, he just upped his insurance to $3 million because he also carries the liability of all the students he has instructed.

He also suggested that we have the names and phone numbers of 2 attorneys in our wallets and programmed into our cell phones that we had previously discussed gun issues with and who had agreed to defend us, if we should ever have to use our weapons.

He guaranteed that if we should ever have to fire our guns at a person that it would be a $1 million dollar issue before all was said and done.

Seems like good advice to me.

You forgot to add that the firearms insurance must also include free birth control... cause if there are no kids... then they can’t get shot ;)
