Well, you are absolutely right about the second part at least, I would never "bring up such idiocy to LEO" because I would refuse to answer any of his/her questions in the first place.
I’m new here; what do I know? I’ve seen it *once* on another topic. Like I said: what do I know? I forgot the sarcasm tag.
And no, I wouldn’t bring it up with a LEO. With a couple of exceptions, they already know what I have, via the voluminous FFL paperwork and Tax Stamps etc.

You should know that claiming to have all of your guns lost in a tragic accident is a long time running joke on FR.
Regardless why would I mention this to a “LEO”, its no business of his unless he’s investigating something, in which case I sure an hell ain’t gonna tell him.

Of course we would be honest and forthright under most conditions when dealing with LEO. We are law abiding and upstanding citizens.....until there comes a time when outright confiscation of property deems otherwise.
I don't know who you are, what your background is, your political persuasion, nothing...
But I will assure you, and you can take it to the bank, that there are a great many patriots on this forum that would make that statement to any damned LEO that has the stupidity to ask about the whereabouts of weapons, when said LEO is preparing to seize or has been told by his government goon leaders to ascertain the whereabouts of said weapons.
I know damn well I would...I would lie to any snooping POS that started inquiring about my weapons.
LEO or not...I would even lie to the damned president about it.

There is one rather prominent poster here who had to take his boat into an unscheduled port call in Mexico, and had to throw several weapons overboard because it was perferable to spending several years in a Mexican prison for having illegal weapons.
