NW Arkansas is the most conservative area of the state. Quite a few retirees from other areas there.
Compared to an urban ghetto like Chicago, it would be like paradise.
I guess Kentucky really is Yankee. Lexington KY has honest to corned beef delis. Actually Google shows that they are spotted, rarely, even in Mississippi. Usually they masquerade as such things as co-ops and Jimmy John Sandwich Shoppe. But you need Google (or Bing) to ferret them out. The Yellow Pages just won't do.
When I go back to Madison I'm amazed at how bad it's gotten. Madison is a beautiful city but the libtards have completely destroyed it. The cancer that is liberalism has spread it's tenticles into the surrounding communities and ruined them as well. I wouldn't move back there for anything, and if it was me in your situation I would pick Arkansas in a heartbeat.
I can handle living around liberals and even having friends who are liberals, but the people in Madison are different. They are so smug about thier political views that they can't tolerate any opposition. If you take the Madison job be prepared to keep your politics to yourself or suffer thier wrath. We have some great elected leaders in our state. Scott Walker, Ron Johnson, Paul Ryan, etc., but they were elected in spite of the people of Madison, not because of them. Consider yourself warned.
You don’t need no silly Deli sandwich in Arkansas, Mississippi, or Louisiana. Just take a trip to the local restaurant and order a shrimp po-boy. After eating that little bit of pure culinary joy, you will be hooked and probably never want to leave the South.
Alternatively, go to Central Grocery in New Orleans (French Quarter) and order a Muffaletta. But, fair warning, after eating this, you may never be able to go into a Yankee deli again.
