Although it should be, moral cowardice isn’t an impeachable offense. Roberts will just live with the shame.
I’m not say Roberts doesn’t deserve impeachment, disgrace and possibly incarceration, but I am saying that the timing is bad. If Hussein steals the election and manages to hang on to power, do you want to hand him the Chief Justice position to fill with a Sotomayer or Kagan, or possible someone much worse?

even under the most optimistic election scenarios, the GOP is not going to get more than 56 U.S. Senators. It takes 67 to actually remove a judge from office.

Don’t stop with Roberts. Any justice that can’t reasonably defend his or her decisions as a compliance to the Constitution should be tossed.
I think Roberts intends to resign because of his epilepsy. He wanted media love and acceptance before going.

Impeachment should proceed rapidly on Traitor John Roberts. Justice on the Chief Justice should be swift and severe.
Impeachment should also be extended to those sorry justices that cite laws from other Nations to justify their decisions.
To attempt an Impeachment of Obama, Roberts or other Justices after the National Election is to insure that no one will be held accountable for the next 4 years.
Romney would probably pardon all of them “for the good of the Nation.”

The backdoor conversion of a fine in Obama”care” into a tax by Justice Roberts requires that The People convert the other Rogue rulings of the SOCTUS into rulings consistent with the US Constitution.
Obviously this cannot be done by lawyers, as lawyers do not obey laws, they just reinterpret laws to suit themselves.
Obama”care” is the Death Knell for America, and this horrific law was upheld by our politically-divided SCOTUS.
