This is an amazing effect ... although I get a bit dizzy after looking at the photos for too long.

So, one could take an old stereoscopic photo card and scan each image then create an animated gif in Photoshop that tweens the two images as a loops and voila?

Amazing is right. I used to have a stereo camera. May have to try this effect with the photos I took.

Okay about stereos optic effect. But did anyone notice in the third pic, that the army set up a tent basically in FRONT of a canon? WTF?

THAT is awesome stuff right there!

Amazing! What are the odds that all those pictures happened to have been taken during an earthquake!

Similiar effect here, but slower:

The civile war wasn’t very long ago at all.
Only a life time and a half ago.
It’s amazing how corrupt, controlling and intrusive our government became in such a short time.
Can anyone imagine how bad it will be in 30 years?

Unfortunately ... I can't seem to find credits or background descriptions for most of these photographs.
The second photo (Union officer on horse) appears to be General Tecumseh Sherman; see
http://old-photos.blogspot.com/2007/08/general-william-tecumseh-sherman.html
Appreciate any other insight or feedback from other FReeper Civil War buffs who could provide some info about these photos ...
G’day!
