I am not aware that Ron Paul or his delegates have broken any rules. It appears that they have rather used the rules in place to do things that the GOPe does not like. Thus the need to change the rules after the fact.

Ron Paul may indeed be the last best hope to save the Republican Party from itself.

This.

I wonder what Heinlein would say about the GOP-Ers who routinely backstar GOP primary winners (Angle, Buck, Miller, O’Donnell, etc.) since “their” guy didn’t win?

Wonder how the rules apply there?

Thus the need to change the rules after the fact.

Its how Mitt "won" Michigan.

The Michigan Republican Party (MRP) Credentials Committee voted 4-2 last night to give Mitt Romney both of the state's at-large delegates, State Policy Committee Chair Mike Cox told MIRS today.

Cox was one of two "no" votes on the committee which met via telephone, along with attorney Eric Doster The "yes" votes included GOP National Committeeman Saul Anuzis, a Romney supporter, and MRP Chair Bobby Schostak.

That would put the delegate split at 16 for Romney and 14 for Rick Santorum, after each candidate won 14 delegates apiece in those divided by Michigan's 14 congressional districts.

As MIRS first reported on Wednesday, the MRP was delaying a final decision on the delegate split until after consulting with attorneys.

Cox said that according to the MRP rules, Santorum and Romney should each get one of Michigan's two at-large delegates based on their take of the popular vote.

"I supported Mitt, but the vote was clearly wrong," Cox said of the Credentials Committee. "It's kind of like Third World voting. We published rules and then we voted to change the rules."

Please explain how a senile libertarian nutjob can save the GOP.

"Ron Paul may indeed be the last best hope to save the Republican Party from itself."

Just what is it about Ron Paul that makes you think he should be the standard bearer of the GOP?

I've been around a while, and most mainstream republicans have been hollering for fiscal responsibility before Wrong Paul because a congressman. However, as a typical hypocrite, Ron Paul spends earmarks as good as Barney Frank. Wrong Paul first campaigned on term limits, now he has served for decades. Wrong Paul is a "blame America first" clown. Wrong Paul frequents Truther shows like the Alex Jones show, and attracts one too many truther kooks. Of course, there is much more about Wrong Paul to dislike.

The GOP needs principled leaders, not lunatic opportunists like Wrong Paul.

Eh, no. Not even. He is a dried up old fraud. And those who support him have chosen to be willfully blind.
