I remember wondering how he could have died right there at NBC NYC HQ. Right before the first debate. Heart attack due to the blood clot you can get from flying. Really?
He was known for his even-handedness in approaching the right or the left, even for NBC.
The debates were different because of it, IMO.
Well, I was just looking over some of the history prior to his passing and he had a particularly tough set of questions for Hillary Clinton early in that year.
He was a Catholic, he was even handed, and they could not control him if he was a moderator in the debates. It is possible they “Breitbarted” him, but it seems to be a little bit of a stretch. I really would like more information.

There was a fellow I used to work with who was feeling poorly (chest pain, etc) for a few days.
Got tired of waiting for it to go away, went to see a heart doctor.
Died in the doctor's office.
