You suck at math. In the scenario you present, the three voters who do not support the candidate do not have their votes added to his total. If they did, he’d win 52 to 48 instead of 49 to 48. Therefore, the original claim (that a vote withheld from one candidate is a vote for his opponent) is a lie.

I didn't suggest that they did...

Therefore, the original claim (that a vote withheld from one candidate is a vote for his opponent) is a lie.
Hmmm...let's try it again

Take 100 voters.

49 support one candidate (Obama)
51 don't support him (ABO)
49 + 51 = 100

Election day:
49 vote for Obama
3 of the 51 decide they won't vote with the (serious) opposition.

Obama total: 49
Serious opposition total: 48
Other total: 3

Obama wins

49 + 48 + 3 = 100
How is the above a mathematical lie?
