Yes, I feel sorry for the unemployed men who in addition to losing their jobs suffer insults from friends, wives leaving them, etc., but we don’t want to glorify them either or we’ll have even more of them. Remember many years ago when we were asked, “why does our society look down on unwed mothers so much?” Pretty soon we were glorifying them. How’d that turn out for society?

Unfortunately I fear that if things don't turn around our culture may devolve into something like what they have in Britain where "going on the dole" is considered no big thing.
