According to an article I read a few minutes ago, Lehrer let Obama have 4 minutes more than Romney. And, I felt the analysis is spot on, Lehrer was trying to do Obama a favor, cutting him off some times.

Town Hall debates are always set ups. They pack the audience with lefty college students and union members with pre-approved questions to favor the Democrat. What will happen is that Obama will not be asked any tough questions that he can’t answer with canned pre-prepared lines from other speeches and campaign ads.

I’d like someone to smuggle in the Obamaphone lady. I think that would be really funny to see.
