Mitt Romney was heavily involved in the extremely messy divorce of one of his key supporters ... and the Boston Globe is going to court first thing Wednesday morning in an attempt to unseal the court file as well as lift a gag order ... TMZ has learned. The divorce was between Staples co-founder Tom Stemberg and his first wife Maureen. We're told the divorce battle lasted for years and was extremely ugly.Sources tell us Romney gave both a deposition in the divorce and testified in the trial. According to our sources, the Boston Globe got a tip that there was "juicy information about Romney" in the sealed documents.Romney, Stemberg and Maureen were all served papers by the Globe notifying them that the paper was trying to unseal the case and lift the gag order enforced on all parties.According to an article in the Boston Globe in 2005, Maureen received nearly 500,000 shares of Staples stock in the divorce ... but sold have her shares before the company went public. Our sources say Tom has filed papers opposing the Globe's motion. Romney's lawyers have not responded.Tom has been a major Romney supporter, even speaking for five minutes at the Republican National Convention. We're told Gloria Allred represents someone connected with the divorce and we believe -- though we have not confirmed it -- that is Maureen. If the gag order is lifted, Maureen and others could freely talk about the divorce ... less than two weeks before the election.

They will do this for Romney, but they have yet to attempt to pry into Obama’s background.

If I was the judge, I would tell them they are in contempt.

Sickening.

Unless he was sleeping with her, which I HIGHLY doubt, this just seems like a desperate long shot.

There is going to be no judicial reason for unsealing records or lifting a gag order on a divorce case.

If this is it, then it seems that they know the records will not be unsealed and gag order lifted, giving them the ability to say what they want in the way of character assassination by implying what “could” be in them.

So, I wonder what the angle will be? Well, I know Allred’s angle - smear Mitt. That will also be the Boston Globe’s agenda. I’m just curious as to what “dirt” they are specifically going to throw at Romney. My guess is it will be something to do with the shares and a media manufactured appearance of impropriety.

“After reading the moving and opposing papers, and hearing argument from local counsel, as well as counsel admitted pro hac vice, the court rules that the motion to re-open a 7 year old case at this time, and to lift its previous order to seal the records in this matter, is HEREBY DENIED.”

Next.

It also doesn’t make sense that, IF Mitt was sleeping with the wife, why would the husband still be so supportive of Romney?

Why would I think Romney slept with the wife if he’s still good friends with the husband?

Something like this was used to unseat Fitzgerald in Illinois. So many judges are in the pockets of the Democrats.

But did Romney go to bed at 3 a.m. while four Americans were being slaughtered live on camera?

Oh right, he’s not president, yet.

The judge was nominated by Deval Patrick....
He was Axeldork’s first faux noir “creation”.
