Boomer here. Not particularly fond of rock, and I am very much a traditionalist. I get very annoyed when I hear what a lot of pop stars do to the National Anthem.

While I am a little taken aback by the rock treatment of the song this is an awesome video that should be shared. Hats off to these young patriots.

I have long thought that it is musical arrangements of the Star Spangled Banner that have made it difficult to sing or just not popular. I spent years in high school and college band playing different arrangements including a bombastic arrangement by John Phillip Sousa and Walter Damrosch. However, the best musical arrangement of the national anthem I have found is one written by Felix Vinatieri, Band Master for Custer's 7th Calvary. It is short dignified and simple. The anthem along with other music by Vinatieri is available on CD here .
