Excellent article!
Something caught my eye:
From the article:
“....Even after officers entered the building, they saw the gunman enter a room from the hallway. Before they could make it to him,he was shooting teachers and children......”
This part I haven’t heard..... anybody hear anything like this?
I believe that the teacher Victoria Soto, 27, was the last adult killed. And that when she was shot, the kids ran out of the room right past the gunman near the door. And then he killed himself.
Although that doesn't fit with the following quote from her cousin:
‘She took her kids, put them in the closet and by doing so she lost her life protecting those little ones,’ Soto's cousin, Jim Wiltsie, told ABC News.
‘She was found huddled over her children, her students, doing instinctively what she knew was the right thing. I'm just proud that Vicki had the instincts to protect her kids from harm,’ he continued.
‘It brings peace to know that Vicki was doing what she loved, protecting the children and in our eyes she's a hero,’ he added.
That makes it sound like they found her dead body on top of kids still alive!?
Regardless, Miss Soto sounds like someone that would have used a gun to protect her kids. Just like the Principal and the psychologist that ran to the sound of the gunfire.
Amazingly, in my son's class in high school in the liberal Seattle area one of his teachers was saying how not to blame the guns, just like one can't blame the pen for getting a bad grade on an essay. She also said she wished she was allowed to carry a gun in school to help protect her kids. (Hmmmm - I may have to print this out to give to her!)
