I believe content will go online, a la carte. People will pay only for what they actually consume. Cable and satellite companies are in the buggy whip business.

They may hang on for a while.

It is rather like telephone companies and landlines. I noticed my ‘local’ phone book it about 1/2 the size it was 5 years ago.

Four years ago, I dropped my landline ($25/month) for cell (pre-paid averages me about $6/month).

I noticed recently that the landline company now offers local landline for $9 per month.

Cable has been lose customers nationwide, but they still periodically (like twice a year) raise their rates a few dollars.
