Plus I have seen posts by unruly posters saying that their posts are being reviewed before being posted, and that it makes it impossible to do the FR mail feature also.

That's it. Like a newbie. It makes it very hard to post real time with others in a thread. By the time your reply to a comment gets posted - an hour or more has passed and the point is old.

Well I imagine it saves the mods a lot of grief.

They have to make sure posts are not breaking rules. Attacks, profanity, copyrights etc etc
