The Rockefeller Republicans didn’t bother voting.

I could "renounce" any connection I have to this land mass in a heartbeat.

Well, bye.

The beauty about walking away from it all is that you don’t have to find somewhere that has a better political system, because you don’t give a rat’s ass any more you just look for a country that will leave you the hell alone.

In America you don’t get that option, you can’t opt out because the government won’t let you. So many simple day-to-day activities seem to involve permission from government agents of varying degrees of authority.

In what were once regarded as third world hell holes you’ll find that in fact the people are much freer. Sure, if they decide to get involved in political campaigning or criminal activity they’ll get noticed by the state and they’ll get the 4am knock. For the vast majority of people, just going about their day-to-day business the government has no real effect or influence.

If you are an American, say, perhaps a retiree on a fairly decent pension such a place has a lot of advantages. You can afford to live in a nice area and consequently enjoy the benefits of wealth inequality, ie you’ve got money so you have first call on healthcare, security, transportation and the poor people just have to get in line for whatever handouts are left.

You have a nice lifestyle with servants, cheap food, booze, perhaps a younger lady friend or two if you like (good luck with that in the US), a nice climate etc. And provided you don’t decide to get involved in politics and tip the local cop appropriately at Christmas time you’ll have no trouble from the gubm’mint.

You would of course be living as a foreign guest in someone else’s land and enjoying all the benefits as such. Or maybe you’d rather just stay feeling like a foreigner in your own land where you are shoved to the back of the queue and if you speak out against the new system you find yourself in trouble with the federales.

I feel your pain, but there is not one Dam* thing that I can do from my rural Tennessee farm to stop the Obamination.
There is nothing you can do, either.
We can vote and we can bitch, but that is all.
I can not help to absorb ANY of your pain.

America is being destroyed from within, not from a foreign power.
If you think that you, or I, can do anything about it, then you are just whistling in your britches, like the other dogs in a manger on here.

I get many private mails from others that want information
on how to escape the Communist plague.
When you come up with a cure, let us know.

Jealousy...It is not a good thing. Get over it.

He also said he wanted a civilian security force as well trained and funded as our military.

Yes. He called them the NATional Civilian Community Corps.

I call them the NATCs...

Name ONE person born in America who’d say “57 States”

To be fair, there are 57 member states.

In the Organization of Islamic Countries.

Least we foget, Read the words of Thomas Jefferson:

” God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

Our Cry must be “MOLON LABE” / Stand and Fight.

The author of the article is wrong on one very crucial point, Obama is doing exactly what the libs have wanted to do to this country all along, why do you think they all revere Castro, Chavez, Guavara, et all?

“you’re without standing to criticize those of us who’ve stayed to defend her.”

Au contrair, I would never criticize one who fights for his country, and I have been a loyal FReeper for far longer then you.
Weakness? Expats are far from that. We choose our own lives.
We do not expect or need a mothering government to tell us how to live.
You, however, have not expressed any clue as to how to change the will of the people, or what YOU are doing to defeat Obamunism, other then parking on a sympathetic forum to criticize those of us who lead our own lives without the oppressive rule of despots.
I do not expect armed conflict, anymore then was seen in Russia and central Europe, where I spent almost ten post Communist years.

If you choose to condemn freedom loving expats, you will face a vast number of us who have chosen to live our own lives, when and where we choose.
Get back to us, only when America is faced with armed invasion from outside, and not because you do not like what the others voted for.
We have no power to control what the idiots choose to do.
Obviously, you do not either. That is why you are so ragged off at us who choose our own lives.

There was no need to steal even 10%. All it required was just enough vote fraud in the right places.

Pennsylvania was easy, Florida just barely worked, but Ohio is where the dems had to go for broke.

That combined with “our” 3 million+ purists who did not vote AGAINST nobama.

I disagree with your reasoning that the “libs” aren’t listening.

I believe .. not only are they listening .. they are happy to drag out all those irresponsible plans they had been making over the years .. plans to “remake” America.

The reason nobody knows what’s in ObamaCare is because it was written so long ago and by so many other people who were in office at that time .. that nobody took the time to check and see if all those pipe dreams fit together .. WHICH THEY DON’T.

The libs aren’t asleep or ignoring what the President’s doing .. they’re trying to keep from yelling and jumping up and down at the thought of taking our guns/ammo; freedom of religion, etc. They’re quiet because they don’t want you to know how excited they are about sinking this country.

Today’s libs are treasonous/traitors. They have one goal .. to destroy this country and usurp all the power from the people.

I hope we’re all prepared do whatever we can to stop this takeover of our country.

It’s easy to be a keyboard warrior and claim to be fighting the Commies by boycotting Apple, Google and Walmart. This is what I suspect the brave slaves-to-be dissing you are doing. With the re-election of Obama, there is little to be done to reverse what he and the Democrats have done and are doing. We are helplessly watching a train running at full speed toward a broken bridge. The difference between us and the liberals and LIVs is that we are seeing it and they aren’t. America will not die, just as Argentina did not die when the Perons took over. It will only become like Argentina, a permanent cripple.

Long reply, and the first thing you do is pull rank on me to set the tone, eh?

Right on. I won't bother reading the rest. I'm sure you just made me wrong, through and through anyway.

Enjoy your mai-tais on the beach.
