While election fraud certainly was a factor, it only can operate on the margins. The distressing lesson of 2012 is that Baraq was able to get close based on his “accomplishments”.
That’s why I think the future is so bleak, because the demographic and social trends that got him to that point only seem to be continuing.
Even after failing to pony up from his 'stash', the Democrats couldn't muster as many voters as '08. It is difficult to conceive that Republicans, even those holding their noses, couldn't muster more votes to defeat a widely despised candidate with promises of even more destructive policy coming.
Not even the veep vote seemed to get enough, and I'd wager millions of Republican votes went down the memory hole.
There was no need to steal even 10%. All it required was just enough vote fraud in the right places.
Pennsylvania was easy, Florida just barely worked, but Ohio is where the dems had to go for broke.
That combined with “our” 3 million+ purists who did not vote AGAINST nobama.
