I have thought about that and implemented my solution.
I verified the sighting of the scopes, cleaned and oiled them well and put them up.
As a competitive IPSC handgunner I long ago learned the benefits of dry firing, and visualization (read The Miracle Of Sports Psychology by Bennett Pravitz, if you can find a copy (is out of print)).
The point is, stop burning up the ammo and use your mind for practice, from the scenario to the sight picture to the squeeze and let off.

So, gunner, how many rounds did you put down range, before your supposed epiphany, of not shooting live rounds? Do not give new shooters such advice. Ever.
