Being a resident of Texas, I can hardly even imagine such brutality for the mere fact of possessing a firearm. That penalty is no different than locking someone up for possessing a mouth.
As far back as I can remember, I've never had any affinity for New York City, and have never had the slightest desire to visit there. After reading that, I just shake my head and add another line to the list of reasons why.
I'll amen that. My last visit to New York City was in the 1970s. I will never go there again, neither will I patronage any business in a state in which I cannot carry. Screw 'em.
