After reading this about the Norks military vehicles:
http://www.dailynk.com/english/read.php?cataId=nk01500&num=10398
Vehicles supplying the rear, run on substitute fuel (charcoal) so there was smoke everywhere, it was like someone had let off smoke bombs, he said. Also, old tires cannot be replaced, so they get filled with rice straw instead of air and the vehicles dont function properly. Early in the 2000s, an order was handed down calling for the use of rice straw in tires.
IMHO:
Maybe it’s time to pack up and git, and let the ROK’s have at it. I think they have proven their mettle. Thanks.
When I was there (1978-79 and 1981-82) we “joked” that we were there to keep the ROKs from going North. Many of the ROKA officers I served alongside were veterans of the Vietnam war, whereas the North Koreans haven’t fought since 1953.
....”Maybe its time to pack up and git, and let the ROKs have at it.”.....
I understand Representative meetings next week ,among interested parties, in Asia to possibly determine it’s time to move forward with connecting the North and South..and be done with it.
I do wonder about N.Korea’s military strength....I hear the soldiers would likely lay down their arms if war were to start....they’ve already had their own soldiers take out their own just to run over the border.
At issue would be as in the past...where would China be in the fray? It’s said we owe them 3 trillion, but as I see it that debt could be used as leverage.. if they don’t play our game we won’t pay.
I agree. The Cold War is over. So why the frack are we in Korea?
Why do only a few people around here understand that it isn’t SK vs NK. It’s China/Russia/NK/(Possibly Iran) vs Japan/US/SK. You think Europe is gonna be in this one? Hell no.
