The FBI arrested dozens this morning for their alleged roles in an extensive gambling ring tied to the Russian Mafia which took sports bets and operated poker games for the rich, famous and powerful in New York as reported by WNBC: "sources say the poker dens were often frequented by high-profile New Yorkers from the business, sports and entertainment fields."
Among the premises raided was "the Helly Nahmad gallery, which is inside the Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue" according to sources as reported by The New York Times: "the hotel often plays host to a wealthy and well-known clientele." It "is not believed" that the billionaire art dealer and collector has been arrested as reported by Forbes.
Most of the defendants are from New York but others have been arrested in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Miami.
In June 2011 Radar Online reported that the Russian Mafia may have been behind high stake card games in Los Angeles and New York which supposedly included A-list Hollywood celebrities and Wall Street financiers.
The Manhattan federal prosecutor will announce further details at a press conference later today.
Not Russian, but still fits.
“All your liberals are belong to us.”
The call of a progressive: “Rules? We don’t need no stinkin’ rules.”
I would like to see the names of all those involved...
Because the Feds didnt get their cut of the action.
bttt
Yep, name and shame.
Somehow..the names of the clients of these different crime rings never get published or prosecuted..even though they are guilty of illegal acts. I guess that the authorities are protecting the guilty elites.
