Is this going to turn out to have been another Columbine, with two middle class sociopaths who murdered for sport? What do freepers think?

That was my first thought exactly. They were probably bullied by the track team in high school.

It sure could be two white frat types, but bombing a bunch of strangers at a street race isn't something I'd expect except from lefty-bombers who hated the middle-classness of it all.

The Columbine killers turned out not to have been bullied; they were simply evil. According to Dave Cullen's book Columbine — superb, by the way — one was a psychopath and the other was a depressed follower. They formed what criminologists call “a criminal dyad”.
