I know a conservaitve Republican, Chad Koppie, who will run for the U.S. Senate, in 2014. Chad thinks that ICE should try to deport more illegal aliens, and he’s also pro-tax cuts, pro-spending cuts, pro-life, and pro-gun rights.

I live in Illinois and I hope you are correct. While much of Cook County is Democrat, other areas of the state are much less so. It is not so long ago that we had a conservative pro-life Senator, Fitzgerald. Sadly, he chose not to run again.
Many blue collar Dems I know are fed up with the Party's embrace of DUI prone illegals and angry homosexual pests. A real conservative would have a chance. The phony Republicans who dominate the GOP here —Bartopinka, Kirk etc.—would have to be shouldered aside. But a real conservative would have a chance. He would need money and lots of it, because the RINOs will not help and the state media is universally liberal. But people are fed up enough that a courageous, well heeled conservative would have a shot. A wimpy me too RINO on the other hand would be wasting his time. People like me would stay home—again—and the Dems won't vote for him anyway. Durbin is such an extremist that he would be vulnerable.
