There is no way the Senate could or would muster the 67 votes (IIRC) to remove the sitting president.

Yes, impeachment looks like a stretch, AT THE MOMENT. Suppose Obie is soon shown to be provably traitorous (only the provable part has been missing so far)

House strengthens, and Senate swings our way and it is untenable for any Dem. to support a traitor. Now what's the likelihood ? Much better wouldn't you say ?

Dems would still balk at alienating their black base forever, so I'd still put it at a long shot.

Could they quietly force him to resign ?
