I don’t understand why we need to give amnesty.
We have millions of unemployed or underemployed citizens as it is. Yet we want to give amnesty to millions here now, and allow millions more to immigrate, because we allegedly need workers in our economy. Jeb Bush says that these immigrants are fertile, and that this somehow makes the case for allowing millions of new immigrants, as well as amnesty for those already here.
We’re told that we are a nation of immigrants, and so based on this history, that means we can’t do anything about illegal aliens, or secure the border? We can’t enforce laws already on the books, such as laws against employing people in this country illegally? What the heck kind of world are we living in?
