You might be, but I'm not. After pulling the lever for McCain, I promised myself I'd never again "vote against" somebody — that's why I voted for my former governor, Gary Johnson, instead of the Obama-clone the GOP pushed on us.
Or as I like to say, the Republican and Democratic Parties are merely two cheeks of the same ass.
Vote GOP to stall the progressive advances. In the meantime, work with grass roots organizations to get some truly conservative candidates. I agree that RINOs have destroyed the Republican Party but can envision the day when a third party, i.e. Constitutional Conservatives, evolves to put some sense back into our government.
They stand for nothing, if you compare what they do to what they say (via platform planks) they'll do.
If you look at what they do, then they really are aligned with what the democrat party does; look at how they're handling the NSA/IRS scandals: a little show, but nothing that will damage the agencies or their agents or the power a corrupt administration could have them do.
Buckley’s rule applies: Vote for the most conservative candidate who can win.
Also move to a red state. The left has blue state elections wrapped up for the most part.
No NO NO, I want a NEW third party to vote for. No mor GOPee. They are done peeing on me. NOT ONE MORE DIME!
I really do not want a third party. What I want is a party that represents me and doesn’t work behind my back to hurt me.
The republican party has so many two faced lying sacks of dung in high positions that we are being double-crossed on a daily basis.
They are much too willing to be bought.
What we rally need is term limits on both parties.
Something we will never get because it would put these career politicians out of work and force them to do what is right.
The GOP is happy being the minority because they can support the policies of the Democrats while pretending to be against them.
Flori-duh, indeed.
“Because some day, in the distant future, in an alternate universe, they might flub up and nominate a conservative for president.”
It happened with Reagan, so it is possible.
There’s one option. Unfortunately, the GOPe does their best to destroy them. See Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee for further details.
Hence, I am calling them the Sit-Down-While-They-G-O-Pee.
Ronald Reagan turns in his grave daily.
I love your optimism. I like your take on things a hell of a lot more than mine, that’s for sure.
I’m still bitter from the 2012 Popularity Contest fiasco.
Well, I’m definitely not a dim, and I am a Tea Party member. I see what you’re saying, but let’s face facts: the Republican party corrupts Tea Party candidates.
Toomey, Scott, Christie, McDonnell, Rubio.....
“As a Conservative I know that marriage is not the business of the Federal Government.”
It’s state issue for now, but one can certainly be a Conservative on the state level as well.
“As a Conservative I know that abortion is not the business of the Federal Government.”
Except for the fact that the SCOTUS made it one with Roe v Wade.
LOL!
Andrew Napolitano calls it the “Big Government Party”.
He may be in left field on a lot of issues, but he’s 100% correct on this one.
“Buckleys rule applies: Vote for the most conservative candidate who can win.”
But how can Conservatives win if they have to fight their own party AND the Authoritarian Left ? I know Reagan did it, but we don’t have the time to wait for another Reagan. The country is on the brink of of political, economic, and social disaster.
If the Dhimmicrats win another 4 years in the White Hut, we’re finished as a country.
Well, I know where you stand.
:)
“The GOP is happy being the minority because they can support the policies of the Democrats while pretending to be against them.”
Did a McCain staffer send you his talking points ?
:)
