Sensible people realize that this can not continue. Sooner or later you run out of people willing to work.

But this is the goal of the left. Put more people out of work. Increase taxes. Get more people on welfare. Destroy the economy so they can STEP IN AND TAKE OVER and turn this country into the communist paradise they long for so much.

An RV may be a low cost rental to a down and out family member, and easier to remove them than evicting them from the house.
An RV becomes a place to live if you have to bug out.
It may be an investment as a low cost rental property.

RE: . Being a stay-at-home dad was great but some of us just need the challenges of combining employment with our personal lives.

Did the 15 month time off affect your employability at all? Was it an issue with employers?

18% of a county of about 40,000 so a total of 3,600 people including children. Only a few adults work on the side, say a thousand or so?

Not working gets old quick. I agree.

I was unemployed for a long time. At first I liked it because is was a break from working without a vacation for many years. Then I wanted to find that elusive job. What I am doing now isn’t the greatest, but at least it is a job. After being there for over a year and half, the union recently decided to go on strike.

The time off wasn’t an issue at all because my first job back was with a guy I had worked with previously and I worked part-time for a few months until the department got busy enough for me to go full-time again. It was a really nice transition back.
