Harvard did the first studies that showed a causative effect. But the pro-drug crowd claims every study doesn't prove causation, no matter how much proof there is that it does.

"Antibiotics are the only drug that should need a prescription and regulation. Why? Because the misuse of antibiotics causes organism resistance which endangers everyone."

The Mexicans have anti-biotics over the counter. And they don't seem to be developing resistance.

My theory is that resistance is caused more by under prescribing antibioltics which leads to failure to knock out the organism and allows their spread. It's failure to follow up and make sure the organism is defeated.

You’re pretty emotional...maybe you need to mellow out...smoke some good DOPE.

Hey thanks for your concern. Arguing with people who support the police state does get my Irish up sometimes. No thanks on the dope, though, but if you want to, I promise I won't call SWAT on you.

Why do you assume that there would be greater drug use. Illegal drugs are freely available now.

In a Republic it would be the decision of the individual states. Get the federal government out of it.

Could you accept this?

Yes, they are contributing mightily to the problem of organism resistance to antibiotics.

I think we're letting words get in the way of agreeing. When someone receives help from friends, family, civil society or even local government they are much more likely to understand the burden they place on others, strive to succeed and even at some point help another. When the help is channeled through a distant government, it is much more difficult to see the cost.

Self indulgence is likely to require some sort of enabling. The distant Federal government type is astronomically more likely to lead to self-destruction than help from those we have a personal connection to.

In the Republic our founding father's set up, it was a Federal responsibility given to Congress.

Leaving it to the states is a race to the bottom. Only one state importing cheap goods causes unemployment in all states, because goods can travel freely between states. So no, leaving it to the states is a stupid idea.

Which clause in the Constitution made intrastate drug regulation a federal responsibility?

I do agree with that. I also think Americans, already being the most generous peoples on the planet, would be even more generous if the FedMob wasn’t stealing half of their incomes. In addition I think it would be easier to hold privately funded charities accountable than it is to hold the FedMob to their promises and duties.

The former get money given to them because people believe they are doing something worthwhile with it. Nothing worthwhile, no money.

The latter takes money under color and threat of law and redistributes it as they please.

Yes, and the former can be taken to civil court if they act corruptly the latter outlaws taking them to court.

“Your police state tactics aren’t going to change thousands of years of human behavior.”

You obviously don’t know your drug history, and its devastating effects on empires like China, India, Sumeria, and the U.K.
