To: DC Bound

So others can just read the article, rather than use more of their often limited allowed downloading allotment.

Basically, if you CAN upload the full article here, you should. It’s a courtesy to your fellow FReepers.

There are many sites I refuse to go to because they demand a click for every page of an article, or even split the article into two pages, with the second page only having one short concluding paragraph. It’s rude and self-serving.

Don, if you don’t want to follow the link, that’s great. If you think this through, though, the reason that other websites don’t want their entire articles copied is that it defeats the purpose of them creating the content to begin with—which is to attract visitors to their sites. And if you keep on thinking it through, you’ll see it doesn’t hurt sites like Free Republic, it helps them, as they become known for being the place to go find interesting stuff. So it boils down to this: you’re complaining because you skimped on how many megabytes you can download, and rather than accept the position you put yourself in, you’d rather accuse me of being rude and self serving.
