Oh, Good Gosh, Lancey. That old canard?
We believed in Lindsey Graham back during the impeachment.
YOU probably personally believed in Boehner & Roberts. And in Bush. Fool me once...
As I indicated, considering who Obama was up against, that certainly should be taken into consideration.
Yep. Juan "The People Spoke" McLame, Mitt "MAbamaCare" Romney.
Interesting that it's no big deal to you.
I think he projected onto OWS what he wanted them to be.
It’s easy to oppose, heck I suspect when it comes to the things we oppose, us and the OWS crowd would be in 90% agreement.
It’s in the solutions, that we disagree.
Sign me up, baby. Who/where?
Sounds like you're Starving the Monkeys. Good on you!
Great post.
I was here in 1997 under another screen name. THAT'S interesting, when you couple it with the fact that I could care less that Denninger voted for Obama. I just may have learned a LITTLE bit more than you about the Washington, District of Children Kabuki Dance than you, Lancey.
It fools a lot of people, and Denninger wasn't heavily into the political side when he made that choice. The antics in the District of Children have opened his eyes, methinks.
When I match up your opinion pieces, and Denninger's opinion pieces, I'm thinking that his grasp of facts & logic have got you by a country mile, son.
Maybe you can point us to some of your incisive essays on current events in a number of different subjects...
What the hell is wrong with you? You may not agree with the choices this person has made or agree with the slant of the article. But this woman and her son are people. They are not its. And a human child is not spawn. EVER. If you have any facts to suggest either of them are criminals you can call them that. That would also be a valid reason for not wanting them as neighbors. Spawn when applied to a person is an ugly and hateful term and unworthy of any right thinking person.
It is persons like you that give Conservatives a bad name. attitude like that.
the Truth is no respector of a person’s past.
If FR had a like button, I’d hit it a hundred times for that post. Pay cash or do without. THAT’S the ticket.
I have no debt at all and have not had any since I carved up my last credit card more than 25 years ago. The computer is six years old, I use a bicycle for short distance travel and mass transit otherwise, I don’t have a TV and don’t plan to get one. I patronize used books stores for English books and my wife uses the public library for her Japanese books.
My wife works, we save our money, we don’t buy fancy stuff, but we still eat like Kings because we shop carefully, pay attention to recipes, and think our meals and budgets through. Sometimes we eat out, but we kinda think our own cooking is better than anything we can buy.
I am utterly amazed when they talk about people who have the latest phones, EBT cards, and personal debt in the thousands of dollars.
TO HELL WITH THAT!
We out here in Pig Balls, Kansas don’t want her either. Our minimum wage jobs are taken by our teenagers who put it on their resumes and move on leaving that job for the next teen.
Because you're a CITIZEN, and not a debt serf.
I use a combination of Boost (Which, if you buy the “Everything” package, and pay on time - they reduce the bill by $5 until you’re paying $35 a month) and Republic Wireless. Republic (Which I learned about on FR) is a pre-paid that takes all the BS out of the equation. You get a two-generations-old smartphone for a few bucks, then the service is only a few dollars a month. It relies on wireless networking in your home or where you are to reduce their overhead.
I’m moving to a smartphone setup so I can test out an application for my employees to track their trouble tickets and time logs.
These kids that show up for interviews are all the same too. They’ll buy a $40 t-shirt but when it comes to a suit they’re borrowing one or getting one from the goodwill (Which I do too - But I have an old polish woman in town that I found to tailor them). They arrive by bus or get a ride - sometimes show up in a newer car than mine. They’ll have laptops and iPhones and credit cards, then they’ll get bent out of shape about the amount of money I’m giving them (Even though it’s pretty much inline with their limited knowledge)
I hear them in the hallways and elevators and parking lot “How ‘m I supposed to pay mah beelz wit’ DAT low-azz paycheck?”
>>i pay enough for the useless eaters on welfare that are born here now as it is and i can’t afford any more shipped in from DC or anyplace else
I understand your concern, but if we farm them all out so their ghetto environment doesn’t exist anymore, then they stand a chance of becoming decent, productive citizens and their kids stand a really good chance of it. Shouldn’t that be our goal? They won’t change as long as they live in the culture of failure and hate that they’ve built for themselves since 1965.
The old fossil that employees them could teach them a thing or three...
*ping* for must-read-later...I’m dubious!
bleeeech....
and just to make my own confession, i’ve done many things in my ignorant past that i regret and repent of: among them, exercising my first ever vote for jimmy carter just out of high school.
