Not 12 hours ago I had a phone conversation with my brother and we agreed that there is an gigantic difference between the West and East coast in the US.
In the East, (E. of the Mississippi) we have factories and produce THINGS... on the West coast... well, they don't comprehend things like production or anything associated with it LIKE engineering, like what a man hour is in relation to work rendered. They don't understand anything like the absolute, pragmatic premise that time IS money... that people must be committed to giving an employer 8 hours a day (or more)are what drive the economy, that showing up at the same place daily at the same time MATTERS.... etc.
Mercy. This is seminal, foundational. Liberalism/progressivism/communism/socialism/statism is incantational. “Say the magic word and win $100.” It is all circular, solipsistic. There is no there there. An amazing insight by Daniel. This is the sword that will slice liberalism in twain.
What society has ever been successfully run by academics? Many are personally dysfunctional. Virtually all of them would starve if left in the wilderness. They regurgitate what other academics have regurgitated, with no redeeming social value. They live for the meaningless little monographs they publish and the government grants they can suck from the pockets of productive workers.
It’s not the “New New Deal”
It’s “The New Dole”
Great article, I’m reminded of the Obama campaign commercial back in 2008 -
this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.
Sultan is a genius.
Reminds me of the assertion that "The reason socialism/communism hasn't worked anywhere is that it just hasn't had the right people to implement it."
Even if it somehow had the "right" people, whenever those people died-off, it would all collapse again.
