Anytime one is reading anything in which a particular "ecosystem" or "community" or "lifestyle" or type of "activism" is pitted against another--then one can immediately move on to reading something else.

You are 110% correct. Those terms are the hallmark of a theoreticist...not a theoretician. This is one whose propensity is to fall in love with some latest theory and to reject out of a love for novelty or boredom with the old and boring the known-to-work, simple, direct, and proven.

Everything you know is wrong, I/we know better, and history starts today. I have a gig on TeeVee and you’re a piece of dirt, so I know better, because you have no right nor I any responsibility to validate or be held accountable for what I say today in a week.
