I can see about half of current cops switching to a U.N. blue beret at morning quarters if so ordered.
As long as their continued salary and pension were held out as carrots, they would arrest anybody for showing Old Glory, if those were their orders.

I agree but overall that would vary greatly between different geographic areas of the country. Even in Massachusetts I don’t think the numbers would be that high outside of the cities.

I understand the point you're making, but they'll get no such pass from me. They're no more obligated to issue a citation for holding the AMERICAN FLAG than they are to issue a ticket to every single speeder. There's quite a lot of discretion in police work, especially when it comes to civil stuff like this.
I would not believe this, if I had not seen it for myself.

That's exactly what the TRN article does. La Crosse County is a Democrat stronghold. These cops were ordered to take the tea partiers down.

I suppose that emailing or calling them would allow one to vent but as soon as one would do that then one is put on to the ‘enemies list’. In fact, the mere action by posting it probably got you on to the ‘enemies list’.
Also, judging by the actions of these ‘policemen’, they might consider any email or call to be ‘threatening’ and come after one sooner than later.

I can understand the city ordinance against signs and protest on the Interstate overpass and the potential for drivers being distracted below and causing a potential fatal accident.
That is more the point than the flag flap, the cops should have never said anything about the flag, just focus on the signs and protest distracting drivers below.
It’s very likely that someone complained about the display of “Pro-American” signs etc, on the overpass.
The complainer was probably aware that this county/township had an ordinance prohibiting this type of display. They were offended and demanded action.
The constitutionality of the “ordinance” may have never before been challenged before.
This is a problem that I suspect is occurring all over the country. When Liberals get offended and are unable to pass real laws, they pass new “Rules and Regulations” that are rarely challenged due to the cost and hassle.
The liberals achieve their desired outcome, compliance.
