Yes. We (even me who has been displaced by H-1Bs more than once) love our Indian engineers.

They tend to be hard working, decent, competent people who have made tremendous contributions to my industry and many others.

How about the guys from the “Learn Java in 2 Weeks” place over the dosa shop? I think we have a couple of them in the US as well.

Indian nationals who came to the US 30,40 years ago have told me that it was exceptionally difficult then to do so, you not only had to be in the top fraction of 1$ but also very lucky. Now it’s much easier, and as long as they follow immigration law, it’s a win-win.

If the Indians want to drive out their best people, that's their business. If the good ones come here, both we and they benefit.

That website needs cleansing. It’s hard to find the content among the ads.

Simple answer is that US universities aren’t turning out many engineers hence there is a ready market for people with these skills. It would seem that US colleges and universities are pushing students into worthless degrees like peace studies, womyn’s studies etc.

Don’t worry. Obama’s working on making this country less attractive to entrepreneurial foreigners, while opening the doors to the poor, the weak, the huddled masses looking for a handout,
