I'm not advocating increase in spending. I pay my bills and I expect the idiots in Washington to do the same.

It like my spendthrift wife running up the credit card and me telling them I'm going to threaten not going to pay you because I want to make her responsible.

Any creditor, or sane person, will think you are a loon for suggesting such a thing yet that's what our idiot politicians want to tell the rest of the world on behalf of America.

Folks claiming to be conservative lose me on this issue..there is no difference between the Libs who run up the bill and the Conservatives who threaten not to pay in my view

I'm sorry but Cruz has fell on his ass on this one and shows not leadership but demonstrates the best chance for America's future in my view is stuck in partisan politics and has no grasp of the economic world we live in..

Sorry, Cruz is the only one leading on this issue.

You are lying and making up things when you imply that he supports not paying our existing Debt.

Cruz was only one willing to actually fight for future limitations, some sort of compromise that would at least start to reign in expenditures.

He's the only one leading as he is the only one willing to stand on his principles and not play outcome-based politics, but principled politics.

For America to be strong and survive we need First, the strongest military possible, and Second, the strongest economy in the world.

I’m not lying and I certainly don’t think the Senator is lying..he is just wrong on this issue.

“America pays its bills If being an conservative now means America doesn’t pay its bills than I’ll have to call myself something other than a conservative...an American comes to mind.”

Actually, the word “sucker” comes to mind.

The “bills” you are talking about is the $17 trillion dollar debt that the Big Government politicians have run up buying votes. And McConnell just gave Zero a blank check to run it up as high as Zero wants over the next 13 months—you know, like for studies on why homosexuals are skinny but lesbians are fat, and all the rest.

Get your checkbook out for a whole lot of bills, my friend.

Ok to clarify..

His tactics are wrong. It appears to me at least, he advocates not paying.

If I'm misreading him I can assure you plenty of other folks are to..

“Didn’t say I liked it.. I’m a sucker..your a deadbeat..”

Oh, my income is being confiscated to pay the “bills”, Joe. It’s just that I don’t concede the goobermint’s right to bankrupt the country through extra-constitutional spending. I therefore don’t feel the moral obligation to pay my share—and the share of 5 people sitting on their butts not working everyday—of “bills” for federal education spending, federal foodstamps, federal health programs, etc., etc.

But I’ll be happy to let you pay that part of the “bills” since you don’t seem to have a problem with it. By all means, have at it with gusto.

Sucker.

Deadbeat

We have radically different views of what a Conservative is.

By the nature of the term I will preserve the attributes that made this nation great. I will work to keep us the strongest nation militarily in the world. I speak out against a politician I generally support who talks like an idiot.

I an stuck with the irony of politicians who cant lead and idiots like you that would rather see the world as taking something from them personally rather that giving back as Scripture tells us.

Cruz is dead wrong on this issue.

Current income is enough to make the current debt payments and necessary expenses. It is not enough to continue increasing spending every year. Cruz is against maxing out our national credit cards and getting new ones to keep going further in debt.

No family, company, or nation can keep doing that. Eventually the service on the debt takes the total income and nobody will lend them any more money. Then default is unavoidable.

If by “paying your bills” you mean “borrowing more money”, a damned fool, a ponzi schemer, a liar and a thief comes to mind.

Joe:

It’s a free country and feel free to adopt any views you like.

But if you think someone like Cruz who tries to reign in the spending monster, much of it unconstitutional spending, is wrong, and pantywaists like McConnell who enable the socialist state are “conservative”, no one on this forum can help you out. Keep on paying those “bills.”
