The permanent political class in D.C. won't listen. So, let's start putting our efforts behind good new candidates who will go to Washington not to line their pockets, but to help restore our country. It's time to put inspiration, ingenuity, and integrity over incumbency in the GOP.

There is no "Tea Party". There are only local independent organizations identifying themselves with the main theme: individual freedom and small government.

You're never going to get everything to want from the Tea Party or "conservatives" or anything else. You have to decide what are the most important things. A lot of our little pet peeves will probably actually go away once the big gorilla government is effectively dealt with.

That's the best explanation I've seen. I gather then that they are pro-choice and against government involvement.

I'd be surprised if many of these folks are "pro-choice" but, again, you kill the federal government beast, and you're back to local and state control of what the people in the state want. Most of these things are state, not federal, issues.

"Pro-choice" is another Leftists misnomer - I like to say to the feminazis, "Your body, your choice ends where the baby's body begins." Most of us believe, I think, that a healthy society values individual freedom as long as it doesn't interfere with another's life or freedom. The only real purpose for government is to protect our God-given freedoms. So (state) laws against killing or harming others are just laws and the courts are there also to settle civil disputes.

Life is not a "States-Rights" issue. It belongs at the federal level.

Legislatures, state and federal, should be part-time with 1/10 or zero pay, no perks, no pensions, no medical, volunteer staff, etc., etc. Let them have a real job with time off to meet. Then they can do something productive instead of progressive/destructive.

Full time legislature pretty much synchs up with liberal state.

The Constitution does not delegate issues of abortion or murder to the federal government. If it is not a power delegated to the federal government by the Constitution, then it is not a federal issue but a states issue.

Let me ask you, given that the Declaration of Independence states:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
Are you really stating, with a straight face, that the good Christian Gentlemen (the Founders) who signed the constitution did not mean to protect all human life, even the unborn?

Do you really think that, if they had known, that a sizable portion of the US Electorate would succumb to the evil notion that it was OK to sacrifice their children on the Alter of Convenience and murder their own unborn children that they would not have added a prohibition against this in the original document or in the amendments?

Do you not think, that if they were alive today, they would not have started a war over just this issue alone?

Very true but... the second sentence in the document that declared our Independence from King George clearly states three INALIENABLE RIGHTS BESTOWED BY GOD. What is the first right mentioned in the second sentence ever put to paper by what was to become the United States of America?
