This is why, except for its proper place in language or jocularisms (cf. Fowler’s Modern English Usage, 2nd Ed.), I avoid the word “gender”. The word “sex” is not a societal construct. You can argue whether it is in the head, someplace else, or all of the above, but it is real.
Wow, 58 different genders????
Here I thought I was “with it” because I know what “LGBT” stands for. But LGBT is only 4. Then adding in regular male and female, I’m stuck oon only six possibilities.
Send me to reeducation camp right now. Implicit in all of this is that we’re supposed to be liberal towards all of those who choose these outlandish gender descriptions.
