What keeps that paper in business? Is Virginia Beach crammed with liberals or completely uninformed people, to repeat myself?

("It's" is the contraction of "it" and "is"; think about ITS implications.)

The usual suspects. I get my local news online from a local TV station which doesn’t appear to have an agenda. What’s really funny is WND (Whirled Nuts Daily) keeps close tabs on the Virginian-Pravda/Red Star for stories that they bury.

It’s a puzzle that it’s still going...
I got rid of our subscription long ago...only buy it from the 7/11 on Sun for the coupons and crosswords.
Recently, two of their reporters got mugged in downtown Norfolk and the paper completely suppressed the info on the incident.
Real probing reporting from the VP....

The Virginian Pilot is privately owned by the immensely wealthy Batten family as part of the Landmark Communications group. As with a lot of newspapers, it's now mostly an ego trip for them. They did try to sell it once, years ago, and there were rumblings that Pat Robertson would try to buy it. They took it off the market.
