Every neighboring muslim country is self defined AS A MUSLIM COUNTRY. Are they all also willing to eliminate that trivial, unnecessary part of their own 'identity?'

Honestly, I see this demand as a strategy... a tactic.
Globally the negotiations were not going well for Israel. Add to this the discord in the Israeli government. Bibi's having a hard time bringing them together around ANY deal. He has to slow down or end the negotiations.
My fear is that what will truly be "dire" ... is that between the settlements and this Israel is now primed to take the fall for failure in the negotiations.

They are almost all self-defined as Islamic countries.
Most add that all law is governed or guided by their Koran and no law may contradict same.
These include...
Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qutar, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Libya, Iran...etc etc ..etc.
(Syria is officially not an Islamic state but of course you know that Obama and the Saudis are trying to overthrow that country’s government right now,.... and we all see the news reports showing their fighters driving out the local Christians ...or simply eating them for supper...)
