Blizzard conditions for a few minutes this afternoon, just south of Nashville. It let up and the sun came out and melted it, but it’s still cold.

Caused by globull warming, of course. And if we would all just move back to the stone age where life expectancy was 22 year, we could save the planet.

Was skiing in Big Sky 2 weeks ago. Much warmer there than it’s been skiing in the east all season. I’m ready for some spring skiing but it’s still in the 20’s for high temps here.

Dusting of snow here in the Pittsburgh area, 23 F so far. I did a little ad hoc research and apparently the article agrees with me that this winter is similar to the one in 1911/12 where is was so cold and so long. This has been a bad one for me, tired of driving in snow, the Hyundai Sonata (2004) is OK but miss my 4WD 1999 Blazer (sold the Blazer and now using Mom's car). Also, I lost my mother to cancer and know other family members (like my brother in law lost his mother two weeks after mine during Hannukah) and friends who lost loved ones too this winter so it has been doubly hard for me, my grief counselor says a lot of people in my boat where the winter was hard on them too. I'm an only child technically but I have a step-mom my father remarried after he divorced my mother and I have stepsisters and a stepbrother.
Even so, this has been one of the most brutal winters I can remember, sort of reminds me of the ones I remember in the 1970's and early 1980's. I remember in 1976/77, school was closed a lot and Mom baked cookies. That winter, we had trouble getting natural l gas from New Orleans to here so a lot of places were closed and I remember the Carter Administration urging energy conservation.

We need to do a class action suit against to ‘warmers’ for failing to deliver a warmer climate.
Our growing season is short enough a’ready. Sure could use a couple extra warm weeks on each end...

Local pizza parlor sponsored a snow melting guessing game. Huge pile of snow where the town dumped their loads of snow from the streets was about a quarter of an acre and 5 feet high. Guess the month, day and hour that it all melt and win a large pizza. Ten would be awarded. The town boasts 900 souls, the outlying area mcuh larger, but they got 706 guesses. The pile is still there, about a foot high. God keeps adding more. You had to turn in your guess by February 22. Guesses were from February 26 to July 4, and about half the guesses are eliminated. Stay tuned.
