This is almost entirely due to Savage following Rush on more stations now. You are more likely to stay on the station and listen to Savage than to hunt around for Hannity’s new station. They are both second string at best. Rush’s coattails are the story here.

To the contrary, in New York, Rush is on WOR, Hannity follows him on the same station. But after Rush is over in NY, listeners are changing the station to WABC to listen to Savage.

another item of note: For the stations where Savage follows Rush, I would agree with your assessment IF Savages numbers DECREASED IN February from the initial run in January. But the opposite happened. Savage's numbers increased from January to February while Wallbanger's numbers decreased or were flat.
