As they do today, they would have to pretend that the players are actual college students and thus would only have eligibility for four years. However, we do have to face the facts of the reality of many of today’s college athletes.

Virtually the same thing could be said of the general student population. Grade inflation, bogus majors like ethnic studies, etc. Cheating scandals, charges of plagiarism, intolerance of thought, sex performance as legit classes, etc. do not negate the ideal of getting a education. You paint with a very broad brush.
