I endorse the Crusader version of being “nice”, except they may have been too nice, as things have turned out.....
Ping for later. I definitely get annoyed with the liberal Christian idea. I.e, everything is nice and non-judgemental! LOL
What would Jesus say about Mohammad and his rantings?
“They insist that Jesus was a nice man, and that He never would have done anything to upset people. “
Not true. Jesus brandished a whip and kicked the sh*t out of the merchants who occupied the temple and turned it into a market upon His return.
Disagree wholeheartedly. There is a danger in twisting the Savior into a bully. Of course, like any Father, he had his “moments”. But this recent rewriting of the Savior’s story into some sort of intolerant Rambo is astounding to me. Those that do miss His true message.
The sugar-coated, always-nice, wink-at-sin “jesus” of the liberals is a false idol, not found in Scripture.
There really isn’t more that can be said. Many Christians have fallen for the claim that to love is to tolerate. Many of our churches even preach this false doctrine and to an ignorant audience it sounds nice and safe. The churches that continue to teach scripture and hold members responsible for learning the words of Jesus are accused of being closed minded. But ask yourself, who is making this accusation? It’s the “world” and who was given this world to rule?
Tolerance is the virtue of believing in nothing.
He even tolerated apostles who had swords. When Jesus gave his”sell your cloaks and buy swords” talk...his disciples said “look here are two swords!”
Even more importantly, Jesus fought against the establishment line of His day, just as we fight against a new liberal orthodoxy. As the Mozilla incident shows, today’s liberals are just as ruthless as the Pharisees.
Refreshing and inspirational article.
You can show love without being a jerk and without showing approval of sin. Christ showed love and compassion to many sinners. Heck he showed compassion to all of us by dying for us.
To do what is said here will harden hearts against Christ and drive people away from salvation.
Really great article, thanks for posting.
I’ve felt this way for a long, long time.
Great post!
The Bible isn’t a suicide pact. Neither is the Constitution.
For later.
I need to re-read this again after daybreak. Excellent points all. I am reading the New Testament for Lent. Scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites, the evil one, evil enablers, Jesus was calling you out.
